About CORE:

Based out of Newport Beach, CORE Athletic Training is a youth sports academy devoted to using sports as a vehicle to positively impact the lives of children. We believe participation in sports offers the perfect avenue for children to increase self-confidence, improve athletic and social skills, and strengthen essential values. Through after school and weekend programs, leagues, clinics, camps, and sports parties, CORE brings children together from various schools around Orange County with the goal of instilling a love for sports and physical activity.

About the Position:

At CORE, we are on the lookout for motivated individuals who are interested in enriching their college experience through behind the scenes exposure to the inner workings of a thriving youth athletics academy. CORE Field Study Internships offer the perfect opportunity to gain a variety of experience in critical business disciplines, including: business operations, marketing & communications, team management, program development, project management, community development, and more. Projects include hands-on work in both the planning & management and the operations & execution of our youth athletics programs. Plus, we offer each Intern the opportunity to customize their experience by choosing an elective project in a discipline of their choosing: business development, operations, marketing, or product development.

For Interns who excel in their Field Study role and possess an interest in advancing their career with CORE, there will be opportunities to discuss a longer tenure with CORE, including paid roles focused on: administration, operations, program development, and marketing.

At CORE, we believe that no matter how enriching one’s college education has been, there is no substitute for firsthand field experience! Our goal is to provide individuals a unique, personalized experience that helps each participant achieve their personal and professional goals in their areas of interest, such as: business, entrepreneurship, administrative operations, sports management, education, or psychology. Working with CORE offers each Intern an opportunity to propel their career forward by co-designing their own experience and differentiating themselves from other graduates.

Position Details:

Field Study Interns will work alongside our management, operations and coaching teams both in-field and remotely to assist in a myriad of functions, including: performing marketplace research, building program business plans, conducting seasonal program planning, creating marketing & promotional plans, assisting in the day-to-day execution of lesson plans, coordinating program logistics, evaluating the effectiveness of our programs, and more.

At the onset of the Field Study, goals will be set with the Supervisor then, reviewed and evaluated throughout the internship to ensure that each Intern garners the very most from their experience with CORE.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

- High School Diploma or equivalent; actively enrolled in or completed College/ University

- Educational background in psychology, business, marketing, education or fitness

- Experience playing sports: basketball, soccer, baseball, football, or lacrosse preferred

- Strong communication (verbal and written), organization and time management skills

- Possess a passion for helping people and motivating others to make beneficial changes

- Understand what it means to be a role-model and have a positive influence on children

- Possess a curiosity for understanding how people work, think, and grow

- Ability to maintain professional conduct at all times

- Ability to quickly establish relationships with clients and influencers

- Exposure to marketing and communications functions, including social media platforms

- Ability to embody CORE Mission and Philosophy, build CORE Brand awareness, and maintain CORE brand loyalty

- Energetic, confident and outgoing personality

- Punctual

- Flexible schedule with the ability to also attend weekly status meetings

- Reliable form of transportation

Desired, but Not Required:

- Experience with Google Workspace or similar business software

- Experience with social media and search engine management platforms
