WEEKEND BASKETBALL

Fall Season Coming Soon!

About CORE basketball

Classes are designed for kids of all ages and skill levels who want to develop their basketball skills and improve their abilities in a fun, supportive, and high-energy environment. Through expert coaching and age-appropriate lesson plans, programs are designed to strengthen and accelerate the learning process graduating kids from Intro Class to Leagues to Performance Class.

Each session includes a combination of skill instruction, concept development, engaging drills, and situational training to put new knowledge into practice. All players are taught key fundamentals such as footwork, dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense, while more experienced players are introduced to advanced court and team concepts such as man-to-man, zone and help defenses.

Classes are structured to meet each athlete where they are with small groups organized by age and experience ensuring personalized attention and a positive peer-to-peer dynamic.

About Intro Class: Build Your Basic Skills!

Designed to introduce young kids to the game and support their early learning process. Through age-appropriate drills and games, participants develop foundational skills in footwork, dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense. This is the perfect class for kids new to the sport, offering a fun, safe environment to explore basketball while accelerating skill development and fostering a love for the game.

About Leagues: Continued Growth & Development!

Designed to advance elementary aged kids from basic skills to intermediate game play. League programs support the learning process with continued skill development, challenging drills, situational training, scrimmages, and games. Participants learn to improve footwork, dribbling, passing, shooting, and defensive abilities with high-caliber instruction and top-notch coaching.

About Performance Class: Level Up Your Game!

Designed to challenge intermediate to advanced participants through sport-specific and plyometric training, helping to improve both basketball IQ and overall athleticism. Participants continue to develop individuals skills, advanced in-game team strategies, and learn how to become better teammates and stronger leaders. Participants learn advanced concepts, such as man-to-man, zone, and help defense; fast breaks; and how to box out and set screens. The perfect compliment to 4th-grade league or club basketball.

As with all CORE Programs, by integrating social emotional learning into our curriculum, CORE helps young athletes grow not only on the court, but off it—developing confidence, resilience, teamwork, and leadership.

Featuring CORE’s Senior Director of Basketball, Coach Adrian Watkins

Coach Adrian brings a wealth of basketball knowledge to CORE serving as CORE’s Director of Basketball Operations for over 7 years.

A Marina High School alumnus and recipient of numerous awards and accolades from prestigious basketball camps, including Five-Star Basketball Camp and USC's High School Varsity Camp. A CORE Kid fave, Coach Adrian was also heavily recruited for basketball by Stanford, UC Santa Barbara, and Fresno State.

A HUGE thank you to Coach Adrian and all of the other coaches for always being engaged in your junior athletes and fostering their development, both athletically and personally. Our son loves basketball and his CORE coaches — he is soaking up all the wisdom about being a good team player in addition to pro tips regarding form and movements.
