CORE Character Bands
Celebrating Confidence, Character & Sportsmanship Through Youth Sports
At CORE, sports are about more than games, drills, and competition. They are opportunities for kids to build confidence, practice teamwork, show leadership, develop resilience, and grow into stronger people.
CORE Character Bands, also known as CORE Wristbands, are one of the ways we celebrate those moments. Each band recognizes a child for demonstrating positive character, effort, sportsmanship, leadership, inclusion, or growth during a CORE camp, class, league, party, or youth sports program.
Our goal is simple: help kids feel proud of who they are becoming, both on and off the field.
What Are CORE Bands?
CORE Bands are character-based wristbands awarded by CORE coaches when kids demonstrate values we want to encourage and celebrate.
A child does not need to be the fastest, strongest, most skilled, or most competitive athlete to earn a CORE Band. Bands are awarded for meaningful moments, such as trying hard, including others, showing respect, leading by example, bouncing back after a mistake, staying positive, or helping a teammate.
CORE Bands help kids understand that effort, attitude, kindness, confidence, and character matter just as much as athletic ability.
Why CORE Bands Matter
CORE Bands turn everyday program moments into lessons kids can remember.
When a coach recognizes a child for showing leadership, courage, accountability, teamwork, or sportsmanship, that moment becomes more than a compliment. It helps the child connect their actions with a positive value.
Over time, these small moments help kids build confidence, friendships, and character traits that carry into school, sports, home, and everyday life.
How Kids Earn CORE Bands
CORE coaches look for character moments throughout each program. Bands may be awarded during a session, at the end of the day, or at the conclusion of a camp or program.
Kids may earn CORE Bands for:
Trying their hardest
Showing respect
Having a positive attitude
Including others
Being a great teammate
Demonstrating leadership
Showing courage
Taking accountability
Practicing good sportsmanship
Staying resilient through challenges
Helping others feel welcome
Going above and beyond
Every CORE Band is meant to celebrate a real moment of growth.
Session Bands
Session Bands are awarded throughout CORE programs when kids demonstrate positive character, strong effort, or a standout moment during the day.
These bands help coaches recognize kids in the moment and reinforce the values we teach through sports, movement, and team play.
Specialty Bands
Specialty Bands are awarded to kids who consistently go above and beyond during a CORE program. These bands are more difficult to earn and are often awarded at the end of a camp, session, or program.
Specialty Bands recognize kids who demonstrate CORE values over time, not just in one moment.

The Growth Band is awarded to kids who demonstrate important character traits that support long-term confidence and development.
Courage: Stepping out of your comfort zone, trying something new, and facing challenges with effort
Authenticity: Being honest, being yourself, and showing confidence in who you are
Accountability:Taking responsibility for your actions, choices, and effort
This band reminds kids that growth is not about being perfect. Growth happens when kids keep learning, keep trying, and keep showing up with a positive mindset.
Great Kids Deserve Great Celebration
CORE Bands give coaches a meaningful way to recognize kids for the moments that matter most: helping a teammate, leading with kindness, trying again, showing courage, including others, staying positive, and choosing good sportsmanship.
At CORE, we believe kids should be celebrated for who they are becoming — not just what they can do athletically.
CORE Character Bands help us teach kids that strong athletes are built with stronger character.
