CORE Coach

Youth Sports & Athletics Coach in Orange County

Based in Newport Beach, CORE Athletic Training is a youth sports academy that uses sports, movement, and mentorship to help children build confidence, athletic skills, friendships, and character. Our coaches lead after school programs, weekend classes, leagues, clinics, camps, and sports parties for kids throughout Orange County.

At CORE, coaching is about more than running drills. Coaches create fun, supportive experiences where kids feel encouraged, included, and challenged in a positive way. Through games, team challenges, skill-building activities, and everyday coaching moments, CORE Coaches help kids grow socially, emotionally, and physically.

This role is a strong fit for college students, aspiring teachers, psychology or education-minded applicants, child-development students, former athletes, and sports enthusiasts who want meaningful hands-on experience working with children. You will gain valuable field experience, strengthen your communication and leadership skills, and learn how to teach sports and athletic concepts in a way kids of all ages can understand.

About the Role

CORE Coaches assist with day-to-day program preparation, lesson planning, equipment setup, group management, sports instruction, games, drills, and program feedback. Coaches may work across after school programs, weekend classes, leagues, clinics, summer camps, and private events.

CORE Coaches are positive role models who bring energy, professionalism, patience, and enthusiasm to every program. We look for team members who understand that coaching kids requires more than sports knowledge — it requires care, consistency, communication, and the ability to make every child feel seen, supported, and capable.

This position requires active participation in games, demonstrations, and drills. Coaches should be comfortable being on their feet, moving with kids, setting up and breaking down equipment, and lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.
