Director Recess Enrichment Programs

BASED IN NEWPORT COAST. CORE ATHLETICS is on the lookout for an experienced professional to serve in this newly created hybrid role. The Director of Recess is responsible for the general oversight of CORE’s newly launched Recess Enrichment Program. At CORE, we believe that Recess is an extension of the classroom with the opportunity to educate and enrich students' lives through guided play. This person will be responsible for all aspects of Recess Enrichment, from business development to, program execution in the field, and everything in between. Once trained, immersed, and fluent in CORE, the Director of Recess Enrichment has the opportunity to play a major role in the evolution, growth, and maturation of this newly launched pivotal product. The Director of Recess will be a valued partner of the management team and report directly to the President of CORE. 


Description:

Approximate Hours / Week: 20-25 (remote & in-person in Newport Beach area)

Program Operations & Execution:

  • Develop Recess Program operations plan in accordance with company goals

  • Oversee implementation of all Recess Programs in-field

    • Maintain strong relationships with School Partners for example: Principal, Administrators, Parent Teacher Organizations, etc.

    • Create Program Implementation Plan, including: execution calendar/work plan, onsite logistics, curriculum and lesson plans, consulting plans, etc.

    • Communicate and Coordinate Program Implementation Plan details with appropriate Partner contacts

    • Lead CORE Team briefs before and after on-site school visits

  • Collaborate with Management & Operations Teams to ensure programs are properly staffed and deliver CORE quality/standards

    • Communicate staffing needs with Management Team /  Director of Development

    • Manage / Coordinate necessary Coach Program clearances

    • Assess effectiveness and efficiency of program delivery

    • Implement procedural changes to improve program

  • Staff Development

    • Collaborate with Management Team / Director of Development to develop comprehensive Coach training & development plan

    • Collaborate with Trainers to educate & train Coaches on Recess Enrichment Program & Curriculum

    • Train Field Staff on how to market program in field

  • Program Development

    • Gather insights from Coaches on how to improve program

    • Provide ideas and insight to management for program improvement and growth

    • Develop, maintain, and evolve Recess Program as needed

  • Business Development

    • Create Program Budget, Operational Plan, and Growth Plan; collaborate internally with management, marketing, and operations, as needed

    • Maintain comprehensive program pipeline

    • Perform Quarterly Marketplace Research; including, but not limited to: SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat) analysis,competitive database, etc.

    • Provide insights on how to best position program in market for success: location(s), school(s), age group(s), program type(s)

    • Provide Quarterly Program Updates & Reports to management

    • Advise on Networking and/or Marketing opportunities (i.e. community events, business organizations, etc.)

Coach Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Undergo Training & Development to become a Lead CORE Coach!

    • Understand and be proficient at delivering all primary CORE Programs

    • Demonstrate the ability to connect with all age groups on an individual and group level; adjust approach for age, skill & experience of all participants

    • Become proficient at gaining and maintaining control of program participants

  • Understand & Embody CORE Brand: philosophy, values, and primary offerings

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the CORE Coach Handbook

  • Be a CORE Brand Ambassador in-field and lead by example 

General:

  • Embody CORE Mission & Philosophy 

  • Be a steward of good character on & off the field

  • Maintain working knowledge of all CORE programs

  • Network and market CORE programs in community when appropriate

Required Experience/Prerequisites:

  • Proficiency in Google Suite Applications

  • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills

  • Excellent Partner Management Skills

  • Extensive Project Management Experience

  • Highly Organized with the Ability to Multitask

  • Strong Time Management Skills

  • Team Player and Collaborator

  • Ability to Self-Motivate in a Somewhat Autonomous Role

  • Ability to Self-Manage in a Remote Work Environment

  • General Knowledge of Youth Education Systems and Youth Sports
