Position: Program & Coach Development Coordinator
Reports to: President
Status: Part-time (15-20 hrs per week per schedule)
Available to work Wednesdays, Fridays and at least one weekend day ie. Saturday or Sunday
Location: Hybrid, Newport, CA
Hourly wage range: $24.00 - $26.00 DOE
Position Summary
The Program & Coach Development Coordinator plays a crucial role in fostering a positive and effective coaching environment. This position is responsible for supervising, mentoring, and supporting coaches while ensuring that all program standards and goals are met. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership and organizational skills, a passion for youth development, and a commitment to building a high-performing coaching team.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment and Hiring of Coaches. Assist in the recruitment and coach selection process.
Point of Contact for Coaching Staff. Serve as the primary liaison between coaches and the organization’s leadership, addressing concerns, facilitating communication, and ensuring alignment with program goals.
Team Development. Gain coaching experience to develop an understanding of a coach's developmental path for promotion. Offer technical and strategic advice to coaches, helping them refine their techniques and maximize their effectiveness. Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and organizing training sessions to enhance their skills and confidence.
Program Execution. Oversee staffing to ensure programs are equipped to meet company goals. Design and oversee program curriculums and daily lesson plans to meet program objectives.
Supervise and Mentor Coaches. Provide hands-on supervision, guidance, and mentorship to coaches, ensuring they adhere to program standards and uphold organizational values.
Program Development and Evaluation. Assist in evaluating program outcomes and contribute to the development of existing programs to improve the coaching experience and program impact.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of 2+ years of coaching experience, preferably working with youth in a team or educational setting.
Experience in leadership roles is highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and effectively communicate with diverse groups, including coaches, participants, and parents.
Strong commitment to fostering growth, confidence, and teamwork in young participants through positive coaching methods.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize tasks, and maintain program schedules.
Proactive in identifying challenges and implementing effective solutions.
Certification in athletic training, coaching, or youth development.
Experience in curriculum development for youth sports training programs is preferred.
Familiarity with conflict resolution techniques.
CPR and First Aid certification.

We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function and level benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by skills, responsibilities and relevant work experience.
